About Me
Climate Scientist & Data Analyst
Hello! I'm Jimmy Edward Jr Matewere, a climate scientist and data analyst passionate about using data-driven approaches to build climate resilience across Africa. With a BSc in Meteorology and Climate Science from Malawi University of Science and Technology-MUST, my approach integrates scientific rigor with analytical expertise.
I specialize in translating complex environmental data into actionable insights for policy makers, organizations, and communities. My work spans climate science, data analytics, geospatial modeling, and recently machine learning applications for climate adaptation, disaster risk reduction, and sustainable development.
Currently seeking opportunities in climate science, environmental data analytics, and sustainable development, where I can leverage Python, GIS, and statistical modeling to drive evidence-based climate action across Malawi and Africa.
What I'm Currently Working On
Climate Risk Mapping
Developing high-resolution vulnerability maps for rural Malawi using drone technology and satellite data to identify at-risk communities.
Policy Decision Tools
Building interactive dashboards that translate complex climate data into accessible insights for policymakers and local officials.
UAV Data Processing
Advancing drone-based environmental monitoring workflows, from flight planning to automated analysis for disaster response.
ML for Climate Prediction
Exploring machine learning models to improve seasonal forecasting and early warning systems for climate-related hazards.

Data-Driven Impact
I believe the most powerful climate solutions emerge from rigorous analysis and evidence-based approaches that translate complex data into actionable insights.
Climate Justice
My work focuses on ensuring equitable climate adaptation and finance, particularly for vulnerable communities in Malawi and across Africa.
Innovation & Learning
From drone technology to machine learning, I'm constantly exploring new tools and approaches to tackle climate challenges more effectively.
